rpadam
I’m in the process of buying a set of 18" Audi RSTT's and have been told that I need H&R spacers. Can any advise on what size I would need, and if this would make a significant difference?
DuncS3
You dont need spacers with the RS TT wheels, unless of course you dont have standard brake calipers. If you just want spacers I think there have been a few threads on spacer size (mostly done for aesthetic reasons) Dunc
olly
spacers aren't required if you are fitting RSTTs to a standard S3 setup - also beware - i bought some (eibach) 8mm spacers when i purchased my RSTT's and found them to cause rather unsettling vibrations at speeds over 60mph.. Drillslinger
That's odd olly Are you sure it was the spacers?? Were the lug bolts properly torqued?? I ask, because I have 15mm H&R Spacers at all 4 corners of my TQ and haven't had any problems (and I've had them up to 240 kph )
seadweller
Hiya........It will make a significant difference to the looks, that's for sure I have 10mm front/15mm back (with RSTT's)and it looks soooo much better than before. I just could not live with it the way it was. The distance between the two front wheels is wider than the two rear ones (at least it was on mine) which I thought a little odd? So spacing the rears more makes sense to me. I do not like the idea of spacers generally and justified doing it for the day I get big brakes. But now it's done I think it a must regardless. Have not noticed any handling problems. How about getting new wheels with a different offset, making them fill the arches 'naturally', without the need for spacers? Have you checked out the MTM alloys that are very similar to RSTT's in design, but much sexier? They come in 19" too
