JaffaCake
Depends what you look like mate. I went for a "40 dates in 40 nights challenge" using various online places. Results varied, but I did manage about 30/40 How old are you? Age brackets vary a lot online. Are you after something serious? Or just a pastime? Drew666
Tom, there are many success stories about finding love on the web. From my own experience, I can offer the following advice: 1. In your profile, be as honest about yourself as possible. Do not invent stuff about your appearance or personal circumstances. It only leads to wasting everybody's time as the truth rapidly becomes apparent. 2. Leave as few blanks as possible in the questionnaire. More info means fewer mismatches. 3. Post a photo of yourself. You'll get 10 times more hits that way. 4. Take your time & don't try to rush FTF meetings. Normal girls will be put off by somebody being too pushy. 5. Don't expect every contact to "click". Be relaxed and you are likely to have more success.

JaffaCake
Tom, The honesty advice is good, unless you just want to have a bit of fun and get laid. If you're after something serious, try somewhere like datingdirect.com If not, look towards a meat market like faceparty.com

JaffaCake
Just found a great one for you: I am seeking that rare pithy Christian man. He would ideally be romantic, intelligent, humorous, and adventurous. He would be a cultured individual, well travelled and educated. The man of my dreams is above all kind and gentle. He would love my surprises. I am traditional in a relationship. My politics tend to run to middle of the road. He would be a strong and dynamic leader. This ideal man would be Christ-centered but not legalistic.
JaffaCake
And another great one: "I'm looking for a man who can give me two orgasms" Well...she doesn't say at the same time...
drpellypo
My sister met a dutch bloke on the net ten years ago. Still together, she now lives out there, and they've just had an ikkle baby Another friend of mine met a lass on a dating site, met up, and now they are married and v happy. I actually don't know of anyone who's had any bad experiences personally, but there are obviously lots. WOrth a try though.. can;t really do any harm, unless he is a psycho axe murderer, although, that in itself could be interesting.

Omi
As I lack any semblance of social skills, I've met pretty much all of my recent girlfriends via the internet. Just make sure you recognise the fact that they're looking for love at 56k for probably the same reason. Make sure you don't get an inflated idea of what they're like. It's easy to get people wrong when you only speak in a format where you can plan and phrase carefully. Might not be so easy, comfortable or pleasant face-to-face. Distance is also a consideration. Not likely that you'll find someone who lives just round the corner, otherwise you'd probably have met them already! - It's no good falling for someone you meet from the internet and finding yourself needing to snuggle up with someone who's inadvertantly 150 miles away! (12,000 in my case.)
