Mac
Yeah I read the blurb on this and thought it 'sounded' ideal - I do *all* of my stuff on line so I scan everything. Anyway, for me it just didn't quite cut it. Also I found it would just randomly stop working and also hang the twain driver - that's a right pain as it's a reboot. I think if it worked it'd be great, just didn't really gel for me. It does depend on your usage though - bear in mind I scan *everything* to do with work and personal stuff. Waylander
so do i - to date i have had to scan images to presto page manager as jpegs and use the basic editting tool to fill them in which is a pain. Also caused great problems when it is a form you need to email to others for them to fill in parts etc. I am remained constantly disappointed with OCR software ability to scan even simple forms properly - be it omnipage pro or Textbrigde Pro. Havent tried Abby Finereader Pro yet but dont see how it will be that much better. heard that version 10 has fixed alot of these bugs but cant justify that expense [and cant get hold of it from "elsewhere" either!]. worst complaint that i heard about version 9 was 1 user who had to reinstall his machine after uninstalling PaperPort cos his MFT was screwed!
