The change date is pretty significant. From that date (thanks to our Govt) all insurance costs ARE going up.

This is because the selling of persoanl insurance (a warranty is an insurance policy after all) becomes regulated. The costs of this are massive, it is costing my firm (I only employ 5 people) an extra £35k a year to put in place. This cost is of course passed onto the comsumer.

So you had all better brace yourselves for all your insurance costs going up.

On reading this post on the other forum last week I called Wayside Audi and asked to extend my warranty on my A3 TQ.

The warrantry ends Jan 2006 .

A chap called Nigel called me back to say that they cant extend it until 3 months from the expiry date etc which meant I was going to have to pay the higher ammount ...

Needles to say, I complained and he agreed to take up the case with Audi on my behalf.

Woopdedoo! ... He called me 10 minutes ago with the news that if your car is still under manufactures warrantee, you CAN extend it at any time.

As it happens, I am now thinking of a third party warranty .. eg RAC, but I think Nigel at Wayside Milton Keynes deserves a pat on the back for some excellent customer service. 169144-ok.gif

SmokeBelch you are the man! notworthy.gif

I owe you my thanks and a beer. notworthy.gifbeerchug.gif

as a direct result of your post, I also called Wayside today (all my service work is done through them) and got put through to Nigel and had a chat about above Extended Warranty.

I explained that i understood, he had already taken another case ,(yours, which he remembered , but i didnt have your name) and had been sucessful in dropping the 3 month limit on renawals.

I asked if it would it be possible to look into the same for my case.

He was quite happy, and after an exchange of details, and a couple of calls later, Nigel rang me back to Yes, 169144-ok.gif

but it had to be done there and then, as by tomorrow the deadline would have passed.

so by the skin of my teeth, I just got in on time.

I went for the 1 Yr upto 60K miles warranty £517

the slight difference in cost for an import apparently.

thanks again for the post above!

and thanks to Nigel @ Wayside too. beerchug.gif

I had previously called the extended warranty line in the letter above and they would not budge an inch.

Sorry to those who have missed this, as ive been without internet access til now, to post up crazy.gif
