peterc
I've just got a quote for £412.80 on my 4.2 V8. Seems cheap! Anyone know if they are any good...?
peterc
sorry meant to say from warrantiesonline... £412.80 as against Mondial at £1582.00 how can they do that?
Ian_C
Strange, for Scotty mentions four posts above they won't cover the 4.2 V8? Ian
peterb
[ QUOTE ] ...but they won't cover the 4.2 V8 [/ QUOTE ] Strange. Their online system has just quoted me £468 (with £50 excess) for the RS6.
Scotty
I've sent them an email to clarify the situation.
Scotty
I got a response to my email and they said they had a glitch on their site. I can now get it to quote for the S4. [ QUOTE ] If you select Audi then S4 then ignore quatro and select the dash - underneath the 4.2 version will appear. From then on it should be plain sailing to get a quote depending on your preferred excess and anticipated mileage requirements. [/ QUOTE ] The quotes I got were : Excess Mileage Cost £50 20,000 £522.00 £250 20,000 £361.20 £50 10,000 £468.00 £250 10,000 £328.80 This for Comprehensive Plus warranty (as my car had done less than 40,000 miles. It covers claims up to £5k. This is massively cheaper than Audi. So what's the catch or is this a good deal?
peterb
I guess that the catch is in the £5k limit. I gather that a replacement engine for an RS6 is at least three times that amount!
MikeeB
My biggest worry when the warranty runs out is the DSG box. Probably a bit of the unknown atm, but I'd hate for it to go bang and have to pay full retail for a new one.
iceman2002_uk
well when you consider an injector for an A3 2.0TDI is £445.00 plus fitting, it doesn't take a lot to recoup the cost of the warranty. mine came into its own when the cylinder head decided to leak oil on the road, £900 repair courtesy of Audi UK Warranty :-)
iceman2002_uk
oh yeah and with the audi approved extended warranty, the claims limit is the price you paid for the car!
Atomic
Consider this... I recently bought a 2001 A8 with which the Dealer included a 6 month warranty (Cant remember the company... will post later if requested) which he claimed costed around £220. Considering the size of the car and it's cost decided to increase the length of the warranty by another 6 months by.. you guessed it... another 220 eg. My car has a £440 warranty package. About 3 weeks after purchasing the car I gets the paperwork through from the company which included a credit cards sized contact/contract card which I can use to carry around and guess what... it said quite clearly '£1000 maximum overall claim for period of cover'. Considering it has something like a £200 excess, so I'm not likely to consider using it for replacement of cheaper items... like broken switches etc. it's only likely to be used for major items such as engines. With that in mind I might as well have put the extra £560 in the bank and crossed my fingers. I'm currently in dispute with the company and dealership over the size of the maximum overall claim as it was not clearly stated or mentioned. I clearly recall seeing a 'maxumim claim' amount but not an overall one...
Paul
It doesnt sound like an Audi (Mondial) warranty. Audi all componenet cover , covers you for claims upto the value of the original purchase price of the vehicle iirc. plus you get Audi assist breakdown cover.
