StealthMullet
I averaged 52.6 mpg on the way to work today, I also managed to hit 199mpg for a split second whilst coasting in neutral at 60 hahaha.
Rustynuts
Coasting in neutral uses fuel. Coasting in gear doesn't, as the kinetic energy of the vehicle keeps the engine turning over rather than fuel. Therefore, better fuel economy by not coasting in neutral. Rustynuts
Cleckheaton back up to Scotch Corner, this afternoon. Wifey driving, following me in the van so no major speeding possible. 60.8 mpg, and she wasn't even trying.

Rustynuts
Oh, and I estimate the van got about 35 mpg, working out from amount filled up and mileage. How good is that? It never gets much more than 430 miles per tank and takes about 55 litres to fill.
asta
Ok im in. I got just over 53mpg on the way upto Fort William. I got about 2mpg less on the way back down. I would have thought it the other way round as it was all down hill on the home! It must have been the magnetic pole pulling my car all the way to Fort Willy

Hopsta
I think that there needs to be new membership criteria! Run your car for a month and then post your averages. One journey driving like Miss Daisy and the next like Schumi is really not real world All of your memberships have been suspended until further notice For the record, i'm on my 3rd tank and 47.2 mpg avg
UBM
Maybe I need another soot chucker and I can rejoin...the wife can join - she's getting 52+ in the 150 Golf!
JamesB
Well, I've only done 150 miles so it's hard to come up with a long term average. But it's about 43 over those 150 miles, so I don't think the 49 is too disproportionate Although I do expect it to come crashing down once I've run it in
