Another tragic haircut to do F1 ?

Silverstone – Tuesday. Staff at Jordanski are today relatively excited that a rather mediocre driver with an astonishingly bad haircut is possibly joining the team for the 2005 season. A team spokeswoman said that in signing Mexican CART star Mario Dominguez, the team were 'serious about getting noticed again'. She added that 'while he is about as likely to score a point as I am, he will definitely be the talk of the paddock with that horrendous barnet, which should keep our remaining sponsor happy'.

Daft mops are of course nothing new to F1. In the modern era, Fabrizio Barbazza famously started the trend for Minardi with his jungle look while other notables down the years include Eddie Irvines bleached ‘I’m still a young man’ cry for help and Jacques Villeneuve's purple jobby is still fondly remembered at Williams, unlike Jacques of course.

Currently, Toyota star Jarno Trulli is the trendsetter, going through a host of styles ranging from the plain 'pikey' to his ludicrous post Monaco win topknot disaster, although team insiders say he may have to be a bit more inventive if he is to match Mario's daring little Klingon number..
