wes25
Does anybody know how many speakers the BOSE system has and if it has a sub? Anyone got one, how does it sound?
Simonl
Sounds the nuts - sounds like it has a sub somewhere, but not entirely sure... never been arsed to look.
CarMad
All Audi A3 stereos have a sub Bose or not. Its in the boot on the left hand side. Put your had against it and you can feel it vibrate. I have got the BOSE Symphony II in my Sportback. It is good but as the standard setup is also pretty good I would look at other options before you plumb for BOSE if you budget is tight. Audi haven't gone the BMW route and all the stereos are not bad IMO. I am glad I got it but not sure it adds the extra cost in quality of a standard already good setup. Simonl
For what it's worth, it's worth getting for resale purposes anyway
cheechy
I think the Bose actually has two subs - one in each side of the car. I may be wrong however and it wouldn't be the first time this has happened
theberes
I've seen a post stating the Symphony II Bose Amp is in the boot but I can't find it. It may have referred to an A4 or TT which have 215W rather than the A3 195W so possibly referring to a separate amp. Can anyone confirm if the A3 ( Sportback ) Symphony II Bose should have a separate amp or whether this is integrated into the standard Symphony II amp ? If separate, where is it ? I've not checked out sub/s yet, but the BOSE system should have 10 speakers : the front doors have two in each I think, two in the back doors, two in a-pillars and one in centre ( by the alarm indicator ) and according to above, 1 sub = 10 / 2 subs = 11 ? Again, can anyone confirm ?
Simonl
i heard it was 1 sub, but i might be wrong
Cupramax
[ QUOTE ] Can anyone confirm if the A3 ( Sportback ) Symphony II Bose should have a separate amp or whether this is integrated into the standard Symphony II amp ? If separate, where is it ? [/ QUOTE ] BOSE always use active speakers i.e. separately amped so there is definately one or more separate amps from the HU. Will have mine next Monday nigth so we'll soon find out...
wes25
Thanks guys, looking forward to the sound quality already. Had an adapter delivered for my Sony hard drive player today so will be hooking this up to. I know a lot of people have i trip but this actually connects it to your head unit whether its factory or aftermarket and you can control it from the head unit. Quality. I'll let you know what its like.
