timthebora
I have a 2001 model year Bora 115 TDi Sport (6 Speed) I am finding that the gearbox tends to crunch the gears when changing from 1st to 2nd, particulary when cold. Has anyone else come across this and if so have they found the cure? I am hoping that I can avoid replacing the gearbox.

timthebora
Thanks for the feedback so far. My Bora is a 2001 model year so it has a 6 speed box. It is just coming up to 100,000 miles. On this basis, do you think that replacing the syncro on the 2nd gear will sort the problem?
Skidmark
I would say, on the face of it, yes. If you are paying, it might be worth a gearbox oil change first...as a cheaper option, before you see the bank manager !! cheers
