LHD STI? any problems when I return home?

Hello all,

I am currently living in the USA and have come across a 2004 Blue WRX STI from a friend for an amazing price. Basically he is trading it in for an Audi Avant and the dealer has offered him not very much money for it....

He has offered it to me at the same price as the dealer.... I currenly have a WRX which has served me well, but have always held an STI as one of my dream cars.

The issue is, I would ideally want to bring it back to the UK, however is there any point as it will be LHD....

The other thing is that the STI's over here are 2.5 litres not the 2.0 that we had in the UK. Would that make it more appealing to someone over there?

By the way its stock appart from a short shift kit.

Any advice welcome as I have to choose before mid June when his Audi arrives.... Going to drive it for the first time this afternoon.

Thanks 169144-ok.gif

Well, the sad news is that my WRX has gone to a very nice guy who offered me $500 less than I was asking on Autotrader.

The good news is that I have a 2004 STI with a 2.5 litre engine in its place.

To be honest, having not driven one before, i am very impressed indeed, and a tad nervous.

It is so fast to accelerate and there really doesnt feel like there is much lag at all, far less than the WRX and A4. The cornering inspires confidence, although my only issue is that when you are pushing hard and you go around a corner where the tarmac is not perfectly flat, it does seem to bounce a little, and you kind of'jump' sideways a little.

Not a slide, and something to watch, but not a big deal.

I dont drive it that much..... although I am really looking forward to the snow!!
