[Audi A3/S3] Flooded passenger footwell after TORRENTIAL RAIN!

Hi everyone,

Today as I turned on the ventilation then water started to flood into the passenger footwell!!

Yesterday and today we in the UK suffered torrential downpours and somehow water managed to fill up the air filter compartment in my A3 and turning the fan on forced that water into the vehicle.

Has anyone else had this experience?? This is the second time this has happened to me since buying the A3. frown.gif

Sorted! It was the grey plastic inlay just below the windscreen. This should normally be flush with the windscreen but was protruding in my case as debris had become trapped between the windscreen and this inlay.

Infact the inlay has a beading on the underside which interlocks with a rubber beading on the windscreen itself which has a groove cut into it. This cut-in groove was full of dirt and debris, thus preventing the inlay from locking into it and causing water to run into the cavity beneath the dashboard. EEK2.GIF
