alanmaynard
My exhaust emissions warning light came on last night and I have been told that the lambda probe may need replacing. Does anyone know why this would have gone and how much it is to replace?
DaddyDub
Numerous reason's it could go, Is it the probe after the CAT or before it? After would indicate a CAT prob but before could be any number of engine faults.
alanmaynard
Thanks for the reply - I'm not sure as it hasn't been looked at yet but I was told it was lamda sensor over the phone by VW (a common fault apparantly). It came on after I gave the car a bit of a work out through the gears though.
DaddyDub
Until it's gone in (to VW I presume)I wouldn't listen to a word they say, get them to get it on the diagnostis machine and them listen to what they say.
Jimbo5b
Just been to the VW dealers today with an emission warning light issue, mine was a problem with the temperature sensor which has now been replaced. Apparently the emissions light can be a number of things, may not be something to worry about but probably best to get it checked out.
