bazza_g
I'm just getting the details but this is a mates car - 1984 mk1 golf gti cabrio. Main symptom is that it idles at 300-400rpm - when you drive along and slow to a stop the car stalls - no judders and not all the time - it just cuts out, a twist of the key and away we go again. Recently he's changed the oil, bled the radiator and changed the spark plugs. Who's our resident MK1 GTI expert ? big in advance
Tobes49
Does it just idle that low sometimes or all the time? if it all the time, Look around where the throttle cable goes onto the inlet manifold around there will be a 7mm or flat head screwdriver (brass sort of colour) idle ajustment screw unscrew that a little and this will bring the idle up.
