A narrow escape

I had a narrow escape on my way to work the other morning. I had the cruise control on 65mph on the A40 near the gloucestershire/oxfordshire border . Approached a blind bend when I saw a truck comming from the other way; only problem was, there was a dozy cow trying to... and I stress half-heartedly... over-take the lorry in her little Jap micro mobile . For a second I thought she was expecting me to hit my turbo boost button and jump over her. I would normaly say my life flashed b4 my eyes but there just wasn't enough time for all that; all I could do was to slam the anshors and try to vier to the left up the embakment. I'm sure I only missed her by about 6inches. I stopped the 8 to compose my self, dry my sweat, check whether I was still alive and take a look at any chassis damage- but there was just some grass stuck in wierd places. Thank God we didn't hit head on offside to offside I dread to think off the carnage as we'ed have collected the driving right on her tail as well.

On the plus side I know the ABS works and the 8 handles very well for 16+footer.

Oh and Ska's final thought there are some complete on the road that shouldn't be allowed near a go cart let alone a car ... just thought I'd let off some steam

I was driving past a girl stopped in a layby on thursday, as I passed her she just pulled out my quick reactions avoided me taking her wing off, I stopped and looked at her with my WTF are you doing look and she just laughed at me

She wouldn't have been laughing so much if she had 2 tonnes of A8 attached to her car

Close call Ska. There really are some absolute knobs on the road. Recently I've had two close calls(has some painted a target on my car????? ) on a roundabout in Bristol. It's got 3 lanes, all 3 of which are used to take the second (main route) exit for the train station, A37 and A38. I'm in the 3rd lane (A38) coming around the roundabout, when some TWAT in a shogun, on the inside of me decides he's not following the roundabout as he should, but is going to continue around. Almost took the arse end out of someone else, and the side of me!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if you find the same, but people seem to try it on more often when I'm driving my anonymous-looking Subaru Legacy or my wife's Clio than when I'm in the dangerous-looking S8.

There are just too many Nobs on the road: I came across a friend being hassled by a focus full of Tw@ts. They were inches off her bumper, I did the honourable thing and chose my moment and zoomed in between them, the tw@ts now had to hassle me . We then left them far behind due clearing traffic safely and swiftly and the fact the driver of the focus could not drive, but watching the focus in my mirrors its a miracle at least 2 head on accidents didn't happen, the focus driver was so desperate to keep up even though he had 4 passengers!! Some drivers just don't get it: you hit something or someone at speed ya DEAD!!!! Where are the sly cops when you need 'em?
