simkna
Just picked up the following from the VW UK website - it's part of the general description of the "New Golf Range". Thought it might amuse in light of some of the recent discussions on this forum. "After 30 years of work, our engineers have not forgotten that the beauty is in the detail. The wing mirrors have integrated indicators. The aerial is in the rear windscreen; it cannot be broken or stolen. As for the door seals, they are aero dynamic, insulate against external noise and are also soft. So if you bang your head, you’ll swear you hadn’t." Si. AJno1
Someone at VW is having a laugh at our expense I'm thinking. Isn't going from an intergrated screen type aerial to an exteral mount a step backwards? Other people have suggested the same with regards the fog lights, i.e older tech being used on the updated model. Cost cutting exercise or newer tech not being up to the job? Either way there will be no point asking my dealer, as I've come to realise everyone on TSN seems far more clued up.

IMO it looks better anyway VW of course can just fill the GTI with old cr4p and call it retro.

chriswastle
Red robin, your car will be a 2006 model, these have been built since build week 24... the difference between the foglights is on this site somewhere Aesthetically there look darker and there look like they sit further back but not sure if they do...
