cv boot question......

Hi All,

I have a 98 A6 2.8 Avant SE. Tonight I noticed a little black grease on the front offside wheel so I took it off and found that the rubber boot that covers the outer CV joint has a split in it. I have replaced others before on VW's where the new boot came with a split along its length so you just put it over the shaft then joined it together by means of either a little screw clamp or glue. This saves all of the hassle of dropping the shaft of course. Does anybody know if you can get them for my car and if so from where??

Thanks for any help.... (PS I'm in Westerham, Kent if it helps)

Glue/bolt together CV boot have seemed to have dissapeared, They have been replaced by these strech CV boots which are complete but they come with a cone that let you strech the small part over the big joint, But you still have to strip it all apart.

If it was me I would fit the proper one as they seem to split the universal ones straight away
