howie_dsg
Hi Guys Just wondering if anyone has added Tom Tom sat nav standalone system to the current shape Audi A3. If so how/where did you mount it? Is it any good? I've heard that there can be problems receiving the signals through thermally treated glass, any idea if thats teh case in the A3? Cheers Howie

CarMad
Well.... got the the Tomtom fitted using my palm. I have to say I am extremely impressed, even more so with the new upgraded version 5 software. When I had the phone kit fitted (Shown in picture) I asked if he could help with the sat nav. Basically all the wires are fed down the edge of the windscreen and some power is sourced behind the glovebox somewhere so I don't need to use the suppied cable anymore. Result no wires trailing around the dash that are obvious certainly from the drivers seat anyway. If you went for a Tomtom go / 300/ 500 et al then all you would need to do is get power to the unit and fix the mount to the screen.
