iqbalg
Hi, I have an issue with the boot on my Golf Mk IV (2001). Since I have had the car I have not been able to open the boot with the key. It seems the keyhole is corroded and the key just refuses to go in. I've tried WD 40 etc but with no luck. The problem was worsened this weekend after jetwashing the car. Now the boot does not unlock when opening the car with the remote key fob. In other words I have no way of opening the boot any more. When I unlock the car with the fob I can hear a slight noise near the boot but it seems although an attempt is made (I can hear a click noise) it is not unlocked. Does anyone have any ideas how I might get the boot open? I've tried getting in to the boot from the back seats but cannot remove the casing on the boot as it is shut. Please help! I really need to be able to use my boot. Thanks
felixthecat1
How much would a new cover cost? A craft knife would cut through it eventually, please don't remove a finger in the process Best I got, sorry. Failing that, call the AA/RAC/Green Flag whoever
mulkbear
you can the inside boot cover off but be careful. there is two screws in the handle parts (torx 20) of the inside cover and then you have to pull it off (very carefulY)
