Milo
A brand new 2.4 multitronic cab with the same options from drivethedeal is available for £29,500. At £19,500 privately that's a £10k saving which I would think is about right for the age/mileage. A good value car IMO but not deal of the century. Another cab owner if the offing? DeanW
It's got a lot of toys that's for sure, and a good colour combo, the only downside is the mileage is a touch on the high side - having said that if you don't do many miles yourself and keep it a few years it will soon even out
Phantom
I would say that is a fair price, mine is more or less the same spec but without satnav. Mine has 67k miles on now but based on the last dealer valuation I could still get £17-18k privately. Only thing to be wary of is that VW group currently do not have a factory extended warranty, so when the car reaches 60k you will have to sort out another warranty or wait until VW get their act together. There is talk that they will be offering a Mondial extended warranty, but I am not holding my breath. I would also get a full AA / RAC inspection and get them to take a look at the CVT gearbox and steering rack. The car is the same age as mine and if they haven't been replaced yet they could be expensive to replace outside of warranty. Good luck with the purchase
UBM
Looks like a sensible choice but remember it is a 2.4 which is a bit of an oil and juice guzzler. It certainly is loaded with toys - is there a wind deflector and heated seats?

[/ QUOTE ] I can vouch for the oil and juice - the 2.4 is a lovely smooth engine but in hindsight I would probably not have gone for it.....the 3.0 would have called me! And as UBM says, I would certainly have wanted botty warmers and wind deflector for those "cooler" summer days....
wyliss
Fair play o nthe 2.4 thing, I was thinking that myself actually. Ref the warranty and stuff, when the car is new does it automatically come with 3 years?, if so can you renew it?, and also if left to expire who else can you go with that is reputable? ta
Phantom
Check my post above with respect to warranty, but most new cars come with a three year / 60k miles warranty. I think Hyundai offer a 5 year warranty and Land Rover offer a 3 year / unlimited mileage warranty. Interesting industry comparisons
