AndrewEdward
Silly question, but has anyone had their front foglights on when it hasn't been foggy? Had my GTi now for 3 months and never even switched them on, as i believed it was illegal??
aswall
It's illegal and stupid, please don't do it or you will be forever doomed to wear a baseball cap and chunky gold jewellery Leave it for the tw@ts in their Saxos and E36 Beemers
RedRobin
Is it illegal?! Not that I do it....Honest guv'. But I do wear baseball caps and Native American 'jewellery'....Does that count?!! http://www.centreland.org.uk/robincdpage.html

RedRobin
[ QUOTE ] No Robin, don't think you qualify as a chav [/ QUOTE ] ....Oh dear! I'm sooo disappointed - I'll have to try much harder. I'll start with a Boeing roof spoiler on my new GTI....Colour coded of course! Though a naked reclining lady painted on the wing might look good Back on subject (well, sort of)....I read somewhere that the GTI's headlights automatically ignite when you exceed 90mph....True or false? CRJ_1
Yep, providing you have the lights set to auto & stay over that speed for, I think, 20 seconds.......so the manual says, never been over 70 myself
chriswastle
Thats correct Robin, only when the lights are in Auto mode though... Not sure if its really that necessary. They stay on for about 5 minutes by which time you are in town and your headlamps are on in broad daylight ( Chav again....)! lagrian
believe they come on over 140 Km/h for a set periods of time something like 20 seconds then they go off again if you stay below 65 Km/h for 240 seconds , something like that anyway the speeds are correct just can't remember the time period. And I hate it , seems pointless, just wish you could turn the funtion off as then I could just leave auto lights on all the time and forget about the lights altogether
