Roy
I just stuck a CD in my changer with MP3's on it and was surprised to find that it plays them no problems. Quite pleased cos it will save me a lot of burning of CD's
Riz
i think it only plays audio cd`s and not real *.mp3 files. so your cd-rw burning application probably converted them to a audio-cd!
Roy
Nope mate, I use Nero and the disc in question just has MP3's on it, no CDA or WAV files at all.

[/ QUOTE ] wow! thats all good if its the case... carful though as i know nero auto converts MP3 to cd audio unless you specifically tell it your making a data cd.. just out of interest how many mp3s were on the cd? Riz
Tried a cd with *.mp3 file on it and nothing! are you sure its just *.mp3 files on the disc? how have you encoded the cd? what method, speed and settings etc? im not saying your wrong as the head unit usually comes up with a error if it cant read a disc, but instead the head unit just finds two tracks both empty around 3 seconds long? any idea`s people? If it did play *.mp3 dont you think audi would have said this in the spec`s etc and it would be a good addition etc?
Drillslinger
Roy, try putting the same disc into a std CD player and see if it plays. If so, your .mp3's were converted.
Rich
I stuck 2 mp3's on a disk just to see what would happen with my Concert stereo and all it came up with was 1 track that it tried to play but no sound came out at all. The one track kept playing and playing as well (well the time just kept ticking along!) Hold on I just thought, I only tried it in the head unit single cd slot. I'll have to try it in the changer as well to see if that makes a difference! Rich
Roy
Guys, I'm really sorry. I just double checked the CD and it has converted. Here's is how I intend to wriggle out of looking like a twat. I asked one of my employees to burn a CD for me that contained only MP3's, I specifically said not CDA. He did it and I double checked at the time by asking him to confirm they were only MP3's. He said they were. I can only apologise and let you all know I will be sacking him on Monday I have just burned proper MP3's onto a CD and they don't play.
Riz
Hey dont worry Roy This sometimes happens to me where i tell someone one thing only to find out my source wasnt so right! p.s. dont sack him, just make him buy your 6cd`s to fill your cd-changer up!
