Pretty simple...so I thought!

Parked at traffic lights and got hit from behind by some plonker who had just passed... SAUER0421.GIF

Only hit me at 5 mph and so just required a new bumper..

3 days later got a letter confirming that the other party had admitted liability and so I would not lose my NCB..

Now, accident was on 2nd June.

After sending out some insurance inspector (who took a written statement) finally got my car booked in on 6th July..

Paid £275 excess (due to my age) and got the car back on 8th July..

Sent all the documents and receipts to insurance company as requested and they have confirmed they got everything..

Yet I am still awaiting my excess...

Admiral (my insurance company) blame tesco (third parties insurance) for having a back log..

How long do most people wait for the excess?

Seems to be taking forever??

You shouldn't be waiting for the excess, because once the third party admitted liability, their insurance company should have taken care of all the financial transactions.

I don't want to get you down, but it took me over a year to get compensation out of the other person's insurance company after they very kindly kit the a*se end of my Audi two years ago.

Write to them. Write to them again. Call them and badger them.

Something very wrong with the fact that you, as one of their customers, have to do all of the legwork to get the money back when it wasn't your fault.

Best of luck 169144-ok.gif

Wife and I were involved in the same accident a few years ago (we were driving in convoy and were hit by stuff falling off lorry).

Insurance company got their cut from the other party's insurance and then just passed us on to solicitors who then reclaimed our excess for us.

Funny thing was that we were both allocated different solicitors. Mine took 3 months to get the money back, my wife's took 6 months! But she did get a whole £25 extra for her troubles ROLLEY~14.GIF

Well I'm hoping Direct Line have a good 'working relationship' with Royal Sun Alliance, as Sun was the insurer of the Astravan idiot who hit my rear last night, so hard I have whiplash and hit the lady in the Escort in front. Got a hire car driven to me today all the way from Manchester, seems like somone has claimed liability already.

It all depends on who the TP insurers are.
