seaco
Is there anyone in the West Country that could fit my my Parrot 3100 Bluetooth phone kit I have the extra lead from Autoleads I was told I needed, I have a 2005 A3 TDi fitted with a concert2 stereo with Bose , I know it's just a matter of piggy back plugging the Parrot into the stereo but it's beyond me also how much would it cost?... Lordz
It shouldnt matter if it has amp'ed rear speakers cos the parrot kit will mute them and they normally only output the phones audio through the 2 front speakers, however the parrot kit will require an ignition feed which believe it or not i have heard people say some cars dont have which is actually (to date) a load of bollocks, and be sure that your phone is compatable with the kit as they sometimes need an update which can be easily done through bluetooth via a laptop, the update software and available on there website, what phone you using with the kit anyway ? seaco
Hi Lordz I have had a look and getting an ignition feed is no problem it's the maze of plugs that's got me, I just need someone that can fit the kit for me? I fitted the kit in my old Subaru Imprezza no problem but the back of the concert 2 with Bose isn't the same and thats the problem I was told by someone here I needed a special lead from Autoleads to make it work which I bought, but thats as much as I know...? It is just a matter of plugs but in what order and where I don't know....?
gizze
I would think you just unplug the existing adapter, plug the auto leads cable in and then put the original one back in. You should then be left with 12v, audio in and mute cables loose. you will also have 12v, audio out and mute on the parrot kit, so attach them to each other. You should at this point be left with 12v sitched cable on the parrot kit, just attach this to 12v switched on the car. I may be completely wrong, I usually am! I have only ever seen one car kit and that was the Siemens one I got and fitted, only took about 20 mins in the end, but took me 3 weeks to get round to doing it. gizze
Have you had the head unit out yet? Once out it should be fairly obvious what goes where I would have thought?

gizze
Where did you buy it? Most places will have a list of local fitters, all will be around £30-50.
seaco
Bought it from ebay I'm afraid and my local fitter is Nokia and Sony, and won't fit it as they say they can't warranty it, the shits, all the dealers are reluctant to fit it as they haven't supplied it and that includes Halfrauds...! gizze
Then you need to put it in yourself. You have the Connects2 kit, it is a 10 minute job max.

gizze
I meant autoleads, not connects2, they both make a fitting kit. If you just slid the unit out you would be able to fit the thing in 5 - 10 mins, why not have a go?

gizze
I would have thought that you would use the top connector (first red oval) and the block on the right with Tel. Mute etc. on it? Ignore that bottom oval. Will that go together now?

[/ QUOTE ] Just had another go and I can get the Parrot to light up and find my phone and mute when the phone rings or I make a call, but nothings coming through the speakers? You say not to worry about the centre connector but I think that's where the problem lies as there's a connector that fits it from the Autoleads loom and a female at the other end that I presume needs to be piggybacked to it but there's nothing from the car loom to attach, hence no sound? Could this be right?...
Soapsuds
you need to connect the Parrot loom to the centre block also - that is where your speakers go through (fronts....) The top oval is your power (but you also need to run a switched 12v from fuse 5 on the drivers side of the dashboard) and the left oval is indeed the mute facility. Its quite a simple piggy-back layout - i.e. Autoloeads into head unit, Parrot loom into Autoleads and then car loom into Autoleads..... Just looks like about 5 miles of daunting cables - take your time over it and think it through - you are halfway there!

peterb
[ QUOTE ] But there isn't any original connector in the middle on the stereo [/ QUOTE ] No, because your car is equipped with Bose. The right hand end of the connector in your lower oval is the connection to the amplifier. If you really want to use the Autoleads cable, you will need to find the power amplifier in your car and intercept the speaker leads there. If it was me, I would throw the Autoleads stuff away, and just connect the Parrot kit to the back of the HU. The Telephone mute, and audio connections are quite clearly marked on the connector on the right hand side of your photo.

The 2 ringed connectors are the only ones that have plugs in originally! And then there's no plug on the Parrot for the connector on the right for muting, so I'm even more confused than ever? PLEASE could someone that knows PLEASE fit this for me, I'm not asking for a freebie I'll pay I just need someone that can do it...
