punas
I've been scrutinizing the 2006 brochure and price list and have a question regarding the Multi Function Steering Wheel Option. If you are selecting a DSG equipped GTI then, from previous posts, it is recommended that you get the highline computer to enable better visibility of your current gear when in manual mode. I know that the paddles come as standard on the 2006 model and that you can select the highline computer separately. If you select the MFSW instead, it looks like you get highline and cruise included in the price. I think some previous posts have stated that with the MFSW, the computer controls are moved from the stalk onto the steering wheel, and this can make things 'slightly' awkward with respect to the wheel, because you have to toggle through the menu to select audio, computer, cruise. My question (finally) is, if you aren't interested in cruise control and therefore just have standard DSG paddles with the highline computer (i.e. don't bother with MFSW), do you lose any computer functionality due to controlling it from the stalk rather than from multiple buttons on the steering wheel? Any comments or advice? I have had cruise control in the past and find it pretty useless in the UK and probably less fuel efficient anyway. SMB
cruise doesn't come with the MFSW, it's an error in the older price lists, you need to order it seperately, otherwise you can't turn it on or off.
gribs
Is that a change for the '06 spec then? My '06 model, ordered when only the '05 was about came with cruise as part of the MFSW.

[/ QUOTE ] I think i am very much SUFFER from the same problem as you have, and u canNOT really ACCESS to use the computer with the 06 spec MFSW. YES .. u can see all those petrol consumer, km travel... etc by using the buttons at the right hand side of your steering wheel.... BUT if u wanna take control of the CDs/FM, switch off the headlights those MENU function, sorry .... VW simply take away some of their cost for 06 spec. SMB
hmmn, i assume you didn't pay extra for cruise over the MFSW, is so I say the later price list were it says cruise function not included in price of SW, unless VW UK changed it again! gribs
It was all inclusive of the MFSW price. This is going by the '05 price list.
