Advice needed when fitting aftermarket headunit

Hi,

My recently aquired Passat is missing its boot mounted CD autochanger. Have had a look on Ebay, but the autochangers are making silly money.

So I might as well fit an aftermarket headunit. After much searching for a headunit that had a blue display to match the dash I'm now wondering what adapters I need?

I'm confident I need the VW wiring adapter to save cutting any wires, but do I need an aerial adapter?

You shouldn't need an adapter for the power wires as VW use the standard head unit ISO plugs, you might have to change a wire over but that about all, You will need a aerial adapter.

Cheers. So I would have been paying a tenner for a wiring adapter I didn't need! That single wire that might need swapping - is that the contsant power and ignition power one?

When you say aerial adapter do you just mean the single plug?

single plug yeah. Its £4.29 from Halfords. Sometimes you get them with new headunits.

if you want lw/mw you also need a signal splitter.

There's 2 adaptors

1: VW and Audi

2: Volkswagon.

I fitted the vw audi one and had to change the wires around, but then fitted the Volkswagon adaptor and it plugged straight in without messing with any wires.
