Veracocha
Me and a few buddies are looking at investing in a pro cart for approx £1000 and are looking for some leagues that you can compete in. Obviously we are in no way skilled or talented so to start with it will be for fun! Can anyone recommend a league in the south east of england? Thanks for any help
Wallachie
Look on www.karting.co.uk For a £1000 you won't be competitive, but if it's just for fun then you'd be best joining a local kart club, you will find information on your local club on the above website. If you up your budget to £2000 - £3000 you could easily compete in the very competitive Senior TKM class, which is for 16 years of age and upwards. There is an ideal weight for this class, around 10 stone would be ideal, any more than 13 stone or so and you'll be at the back of the grid all the time! There is a newer class taking off called Formula Blue, which has a unique weighting restriction system, so depending on your weight, the kart will either be given more power or less power to ensure everyone is competitive, large or small. They also have a water cooled engine and starter button (unique to F Blue), and they don't need serviced as often (every 20 hours or so). The other class is Rotax Max, but this is for the experienced karter with a higher budget - being competitive in Rotax can cost more than £20k per season. Hope this is of some help. Good luck! Veracocha
Thanks Mills, Looking into it now. You into biking?
Wallachie
Yes, but I don't own my own bike. I'm a big fan of long circuit road races, mainly the TT and North West 200. I haven't missed a NW200 in years, I always travel back over to NI for that. I like the Moto GP too, Rossi! I would have liked to have seen Gibernau do better though. Veracocha
Cool, I just got myself an R6 a few weeks ago and it is mental! When is the next Isle of Man TT? Ben.
Wallachie
The R6 is a lovely bike, just make sure you keep it upright! I think the next TT will be starting around 27 May 2006, or maybe a week or so either side of that. The NW200 is usually 2 weeks before it. If you haven't been to either, you should definitely go sometime - it's amazing, the riders really are mad - most of the guys you see in the British Superbikes or any other short circuit racing will not do the road races because of the dangers. But those same dangers make for the best racing you're likely to see!
Veracocha
I can understand why they don't - it is insane and the 1 rider who died this year was not at fault, I believe he crashed into a warden trying to help someone else. Will definately try to go next year - probably make a road trip of it. Also i would love to go to the isle of man just to ride there
