Chav
[ QUOTE ] Chav, can I join your club? I am also excellent at kerbing wheels [/ QUOTE ] Let's not forget... Kerbed alloys weigh less and add a distinctive custom look!
Sparky
Yes. They make the driver look like he's a lettuce and shouldn't have such a nice car.
Phantom
Might be worth investing in your own wheel balancing machine Chav , you take more chunks out of your wheels more quickly than it takes to balance them with new weights

Chav
Hijack away, we're not fussy here! Besides, dealer has just rung and I can go and fetch my car! Wonder how much soot I can chuck on the way back to the stealers!

shark_90
Mine's currently doing that. And it's going to have another 1,000 put on it before I can even get it in
Kell
Kerbing wheels? Pah - amateurs!! http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/thumbnails.html?c_album=1706103 They've sold now though and I haven't kerbed my new ones yet... Won the worst kerbed allloy compettion at one of the TTOC meets a couple of years ago and it's an award I dedicate entirely to my wife. Without her, it simply wouldn't have been possible. flex_won
Chav, Was that a second service? £550 seems a bit steep for a service, what else did you have done?
Chav
[ QUOTE ] Chav, Was that a second service? £550 seems a bit steep for a service, what else did you have done? [/ QUOTE ] Yep, 2nd service. I'm not a mechanic, so hopefully they only do things that are actually necessary! Here's the invoice....
Phantom
My next service is due in 6k, up to the dizzy height of 75k miles ! Probably have to go for the cambelt change, possible water pump too, umm, front pads and possibly disks too as there is slight wear and two new rear tyres. The joys of private cab ownership
flex_won
The base cost of the service seems reasonable and comparable to what I paid for my second service. Mine is manual so I didn't get the auto transmission fluids and bits. I don't recall getting a brake fluid change either so I'm going to check that out. I noticed you took their screen wash which at 1.79+vat seems fairly reasonable. My dealer wanted to charge me 7.50. So I asked him how much he was going to charge me for draining the screen wash as it was filled to the brim when it went in. He 'waived' the charge - thanks. Had a new A3 Sportback 2.0FSI S-Line as a courtesy car. Very nice but only the wife got to drive it as I was at work.
Durrsaku
Chav i am with your statement. There seems to be several charges for the brake fluid change. Did they go through the items with you?
Milo
It seems half the bill was for oils/lubricants Chav Nice to see they got the mandatory £1.79 + VAT bottle of screenwash in
Chav
The price of those oils is ridiculous eh! Durrsaku: I think there's a labour charge for changing the oils, as well as the cost of the oils themselves? And I filled my screenwash up beforehand, but the bastards always manage to squeeze another bottle in anyway! ... or so they say!
UBM
So you liked the B7 Chav?
Durrsaku
So if they charged you labour for changing your brake fluid why did they charge you labour separate for the variable service? I mean what did that really consist of? Oil and filter changes do not take 2hrs labour to do! Thieving b******s
Chav
[ QUOTE ] So you liked the B7 Chav? [/ QUOTE ] I've driven a B7 s-line saloon before, but not a non-sport diesel B7. s-line saloon didn't feel any different to my old B6 one really, apart from steering is more twitchy due to the servotronic. I hate the new steering wheel, and the one yesterday had the silly buttons on it etc, and felt really cheap compared to my 3-spoke sport wheel ... it really bugged me all the time I was driving it! Air-con significantly louder than on my B6 saloon on both of them for some reason. Still don't like the new front on the A4. Build quality seemed the same throughout though, but I really do miss the large doors of the cab and the dash controls and the all windows up/down button when I'm in a saloon. However, was looking at a B7 A6 s-line avant in black yesterday at the dealers, and that looked mint. Very sexy and sporty looking, and the A6 interior is just yum! UBM
Have to agree about the A6 - but outside my price range!
