kl114
Hi all, I got a R reg 1.8 Sport, the anti-freeze/coolant tank seems to be low (well below MIN), I've checked no leak under bonnet, anyone knows what caused that? But temperature seems ok, always at 90 when running. Checked manual, it says shouldnt use other coolant apart from the VW's one, any advice on buying VW coolant or those you can get from Halfords? How much roughly from VW? Thanks
Rustynuts
VW coolant is not compatible with any other stuff, don't even top it up with a little bit. The dealers sell it, and it's good stuff but you can't buy it from Halfords. It's not too expensive either so have a drive to your local VW parts dept, and they'll sell you some. I'd top it up, then start looking for leaks if it drops again.
jonboy3020
£5.86 for 1.5 litres, advise just using water if its only dropped a bit as G12 is very strong
pontyslapper
G12 is the dogs danglys - its so good I put it in the wife's ford escort (needs to be done after a full drain and flush). Just a shame that the bloody water pump is knackered. Only thought it was a pipe split or a jubilee clip needing tightening. Needless to say - when its sorted it'll be running G12 again.
