lj329
Hi all, I have got a 1999 T plate diesel passat that has developed a fluid leak in the last couple of weeks. What looks like water is dripping from the area underneath the passenger footwell. It is coming from what looks like a small sump plate that is about 30cm in from the rear of the OSF tyre. I haven`t noticed any drop in any fluid levels and there are no warning lights on the dash. The stuff is clear and odourless so I was thinking perhaps it is condensation from the aircon. The aircon is working fine though. I can`t really quantify how much water is dripping but it is enough to leave a small puddle that appears by ths OSF tyre and is instantly noticible. The question is should I be bovvered and is there anything I can check or do ?? Thanks as always Lj
mulkbear
sounds very much like the air con drain pipe dripping. Does the vehicle has a sun roof

BFC
I believe that it is just condensation. I have had this on all my cars with aircon especially when the outside temp is warm. I enquired initially at the stealer who advised it is just condensation.
lj329
Thanks Guys, Is there any reason why the leak seems to have increased recently, the weather has not been particularly warm and I usually set the climate to a cosy 22/23 degrees ? pritesh
when did you last have your system serviced? it may be due for its service?
Wobby
Wont more condensation mean the temperature differance is greater? So the system is working fine (my opinion). I sometimes get quite a large puddle under mine, but only if i have been using the aircon on lowest setting for a long run
lj329
Oh well, everything else looks fine - the aircon is cold and the drive is on top form (after sticking on a new maf), so i ain`t bovvered.
