dazdot
My Gti is now just over 6 months old and the wife has had her first little bump in it. Not too bad i suppose, just pulled up to close to a brick wall and took of paint from the bumper (about 1cm deep x 5cm long). She then goes shopping, returns back to the car and sees someone has rubbed down the offside rear door, putting a black scuff mark on my lovely red paint. I think the black mark will polish out, but it looks like touch up time on sunday for the bumper. Just thought i'd get this off my chest, it's not been a good day. Rant over. silentandy
Oh dear, gutted for you. I know how it feels to see your beloved GTI damaged, especially when you had no control over it happening. I hope it's easy to fix!
dazdot
It was only last weekend that i filled all the stone chips on the bonnet. I can't keep up with it all, i suppose that's what you get for owning a new car!
mixit
Sympathies mate. Know haow you feel. Picked up my Laser Blue GT TDi last year and as I followed the saleswoman round to the fuel pumps, I opened the door onto the pump and chipped the paint ! ! My first 60 seconds behind the wheel . . . silentandy
I remember when I got a chip on the nearside wing the second week of having the car. At the time I felt like the world was coming to an end! Chipsaway saved my life lol
zoomx3
I've sort of got the feeling, having put on some experience age wise, sometimes when we are too conscious or overly worried about something, its more likely to happen. There is a Japanese saying, something like "your worst fears will come through in life". I can remember my first new car, I bumped into someone on the first outing, because I was overly conscious and my concentrations were probably directed elsewhere than the road. For example, now I think im a bit overly careful going over humps, for fear of damaging the lower front lip of the Gti. The likely consequence of slowing down so much might result in someone running into the back of me!
