b5rkr
loved the dsg badge. thanks mixit for the link to ebay!! just bought it now. thanks again.
mixit
b5rkr... mate. Glad someone else appreciates an "enhancement". Unlike some people on here. I suppose if people want to compare the GTi with "old jap cars" and Cavaliers with ABS badges then it only shows, they have no real enthusiasm for the car and maybe they could just be juvenile Pi55 takers. I always thought we chose a VW and "did our own thing" because we recognised quality workmanship and liked to be individual. Oh well, takes all sorts eh? [/ QUOTE ] eer sorry , I appreciate the GTI brand, I've had 4 , I also like to keep my cars original, as they were intended, not fecked around with. If it's not my cup of tea, it's not my cup of tea, no ones taking the pi$$, just having an opinion. What you might call enhancement, i call bastardising, but that's where we differ. I would much rather see an original Mark 1 GTI in completely original condition, than one with Venoms, A Peco, and a body kit on. [ QUOTE ] I always thought we chose a VW and "did our own thing" because we recognised quality workmanship and liked to be individual. Oh well, takes all sorts eh? [/ QUOTE ] What the hell has VW got to to with being individual, in fact, didn't they make an ad having a snipe and people that fecked around with their cars. rant over. RedRobin
I think it's silly to have an argument about whether anyone should or shouldn't mod their GTI or should keep it totally original. Each should respect the right of the other to do as they feel is best for themselves. Afterall each of us has paid out significant money to then use the car as we individually feel fit. Fortunately, because there are those who have a purist attitude and will not mod their car, it means that another like-minded person will be able to choose such a car in the future when it's for sale. What's far more important is how the car is maintained and looked after, modded or not. Frankly I don't care two poos what anyone else thinks of my GTI....I'm the one owning and enjoying her. P.S.- This is addressed to both sides of the opinion.
