novarallyman
I have fitted a Nav+ to my A6 and all is working fine. I decided to add a TV tuner as well, but although I am fairly sure my wiring is correct, when I switch to TV, I just get white noise and none of the controls work, any ideas? craigyb
Did you change the Antenna Amplifers and Diversity switcher for TV & radio ones. The standard ones are radio only. If you didnt change anything, how did you connect the TV to the antennas?
novarallyman
I not connected any aerials yet, I had jut connected the tuner to the head unit, so was not expecting to pick up any channels, however I was expecting to be able to try to tune it in, but I can't the controls do not work. craigyb
Did you connect the can wires? control of the channels etc is sent over can. And what setup do you have? you mention Nav+, is it the RNS-D, CD or RNS-E, DVD version. They both use different tuners. Craig
novarallyman
Yes, can wires are connected, if I disconnect just the can wires then it is not possible to switch to TV on the Nav+. Nav+ is a D with the correct tuner ( B model I think ?) Colin
craigyb
Ok, did you code the RNS-D in VAG-COM to say you have a tuner? Craig
novarallyman
It appeared to be already set, but I am going to check again in the morning, thanks Colin
novarallyman
Craig, I have checked and by Nav+ is not set to know there is a TV Tuner, and what is more, I can not set it, VAG-COM will only let me set it to 0 or 1, not 4, if I enter 4 both the test and save buttons grey out. Any ideas ? COlin
craigyb
Do you have the full version of VAG com and the latest software. 4 = TV and no other options, so needs to be set. Craig
novarallyman
Ah, no I don't have a full version, but it does allow me to modify certain settings, and definately lets me set the option to 1 ! Not sure I can justify the price of a licence just to get the TV tuner working! Is there any other way of setting this without the full version of the software ? Thanks Colin
craigyb
I dont know why you cant mod it to 4, seems odd. but without the full version to compare against I cant be sure.
novarallyman
I have now tried with a full version of Vag-com and have the same issue, Channel 7 will only let me set it to 1 or 0....any ideas ? Is it possible I need to upgrade the firmware on the NAV+ ?
novarallyman
Oh Dear..... Found the software on the Nav+ appeared to be old, so I tried upgrading it, update appears to have gone all the way through, but had a message saying it had an error reading the disc. Now it wont initialise the navigation CD, or allow me to attempt to reinstall the software again. Vag-com can not talk to the controllers for either navigation or the radio....... And on top of that the menus are all in German now.... Is it screwed..... Help Colin
kelly24
I have an Audi S4 with satelite navigation system with TV function. Some how the TV is muted. I have not got a clue what i might of pressed and there is nothing in the manual to give any clues. I have rang audi dealers and even they dont really know. If anyone has simple solution i would be grateful.
novarallyman
OK, it appeared that the Nav+ needed a sleep, I had a look at it this morning and it appeared to finish installing the software ( even though the update disc was no longer in there) and now it is all working as before. I have now been able to set the nav options to 4, however I still have no control of the Tuner. Are all the controls trough the CAN interface? so as long as these 2 are connected all should work ? I have tried swapping the cables over, but then I could not switch to TV, which is why I assummed that I had it connected correctly....but as I have tried 2 tuners I can only assume that the problem is wiring......any further ideas ?
