Torino101
I am not an avid cleaner of my car - probably once a week - and also am fortunate that Avus Blue still seems to look ok after a light splinkling on dust has landed on it. But unfortunatly on both sides of my house at the moment bl*ody developers have decided to knock down the current houses and build new ones - hence most days when I get home from work it looks like a sandstorm has hit the house! Is there anything that I can apply to the car (when freshly clean) that will repel dirt to the extent that I can run a hose over the car and get it looking vaguely normal?? badgera
The trick is to prep the car well to get the paint nice and smooth (Clay bar will do the trick) and then a couple of good coats of Wax, or maybe a sealant and then wax. Dirt should then have trouble sticking and a regular rinse will do most of the work of keeping it clean...
Huss
I use a combo of AutoGlym SRP topped off with AG EGP. If you haven't used AG EGP before it is like a lighter fluid that you must leave on the car to cure for at least an hour or so then you just wipe away. No residue but and an extremely smooth surface. A weekly hose or jetgun with little ( I mean little) or no detergent keeps the car in tip-top condition. Surface dirt just falls off. I tend to apply EGP every 8 weeks or so and SRP maybe twice a year; once around now prior, to winter (did it last weekend in fact) and then again in the spring. Works for me.
