Colour black on a mark IV golf?

Just purchased a black mark IV golf Gti turbo for the wifey....Due to be picked up on the weekend..

Just wandering how many shades of black do VW do in the car?

I have heard of Diamond black but do Golf have any other shades?

Also are all 'black' golfs metallic?

My wifes car appears to have the shiny black paintwork but never confirmed it was metallic

I think mine's called Diamond Black Pearl. Or is that something to do with the Pirates of the Carribean

There's "Black" and "Diamond Black", which is pearlescent and shows up fantastically in the sun. It was a chargeable extra on the Mk4 (as it is on the Mk5), whereas black is one of the standard colours you can get for free(!) - the others are white, ink blue and tornado red.

Diamond black also doesn't show scratches and marks as much as plain black - I tried for ages to find a diamond black Passat for Mrs Mook, but couldn't so had to settle for plain black.

i had a met black mk4 golf but diamond black is the black to get.met shows up every scratch.diamonds a bit better.they both looks ace at nite but diamond is better at day.enjoy ur wives golf...

There's Black Magic too, which is the same as Diamond Black for some reason
