JamesB
For what it's worth, I'm not in favour of a winter break. The majority of meets I've attended, MK or Windsor, have been in or around the winter months (and not just to hide the dirt). Personally, I turn up because I want to talk to people about cars and maybe go for a gentle cruise as opposed to standing around for three hours looking at the cars themselves. Usually there is enough artificial light to be able to admire anyway. I admit I haven't attended recently but this has been due to house moves and other complications - I hope to get back in the loop soon.
nikw
One of the things I enjoy about our meets is that beyond the usual suspects I never know who might turn up or what they'll be driving. We're all busy people (got to pay for those Audis/VWs/Porsches/Citroens/etc), and many of us have kids so there are plenty of good excuses for patchy attendance. Even with just Ian and I there was no lack of conversational material; talking cars for three hours solid is a form of satisfaction I just can't get from the missus If by March 06 it's still just Ian and I then that's fine by me, but then I do have a much shorter drive to Caldecotte (10-15 mins) than most. I vote we carry on with the meets

As someone who has only made it up to the MK meet once, my views may not count for a great deal. However, I would always argue against temporary suspension of any (otherwise) regular arrangement. Carry on with low numbers through the slack season and people will turn up when they are able to. Alter the standard arrangement and people will then have doubts as to whether the meet is on or not. Ian_C
Haha! Well April 2004 the first occasion I drove over from Bedford after Lupobabe dragged me along from Coventry previously. Matt had just got his A8 back from Audi after the warranty work: Not only the first time I saw his car but went for a quick spin too. Happy days. crasher
I'll happily hold my hand up and admit that i've not yet made it to a MK meet despite having said i would on a couple of occasions. I don't have too much of an excuse as i'm still working in Warwick, but it has been difficult to motivate oneself for the trek after a long day in the office. I already know for a fact that the next possible MK meet for me is Jan 06, as i'm already booked for the december date Maybe i should start up a midlands faction???
