colinro
What are the thedifferences between the a6 ,2.5tdi sport suspension set up and the 2.5 tdi SE.I like the spec on the se but not the body roll.Is it possible to change the set up on the se to give a stiffer ride ? thanks Colin
jimdiesel
What year is the car. The SE got sport suspension as standard for the 2000 model year, and then reverted back to an even softer set up for the 2002 model year face lift. colinro
No year in particular,I am in the market for new car and have had a test drive in a 99 se saloon, I loved the spec but not the ride.Iam probably going to get a 02 model saloon se because they all have split fold rear seats which seems to be an option on the sport.I did not realise the se had stiffer set up on later cars. jimdiesel
The SE has sport suspension as standard between Sept 99 and Sept 01. This is actually slightly softer than the stand alone sport suspension option that was available from the factory before this time, and was too stiff in my opinion. After Sept 01 the Sport became a model designation. The split rear seat was standard between Sept 99 and Sept 01. Im not to sure what happened with the face lift after then, but I think it was only Quattros that got it as standard.
colinro
thanks for the info.Have all the se saloons got split fold rear seats as standard no matter what year of manufacture? I do like the a6 avants but cant justify the1000-1500£ premium for the occasional use of the space. one final question please, can the isofix points for child seats be retro fitted? thanks Colin
jimdiesel
Not 100% sure but I know for definate that the 2000 and 2001 model year cars (Sept 99 to Sept 01) had them as standard. Was always available as an option though so you might find a car with them.
Smiddy
My A6 SE has sports suspension can be a bit bumpy sometimes but hugs the road quite nicely
peterb
[ QUOTE ] My A6 SE has sports suspension can be a bit bumpy sometimes [/ QUOTE ] Pah! The sports suspension on my old 2.7TqS was soft and wallowy compared with the RS!
