kameleon 6 - can't control Panasonic player HELP!!

Ok so got a Kameleon 6 all in one remote.

Put the codes (listed in the instruction book) in for the TV (Panasonic), the video (JVC), the Freeview (Grundig) and they all work absolutely spot on.

But it absolutely refuses to drive the (Panasonic) DVD player. It's a fairly common Panasonic SC-HT70 surround sound system, and the instruction book only lists one code for Panasonic DVD players. I've put that in but nothing, it just controls the volume on the TV instead of the DVD player.

I've also tried searching for it on the controller. Basically you choose your device then scroll through all the codes in the unit till it responds. Nothing.

I'm at a complete loss.

I'd assume it was something I'd done wrong but for the fact I have the other three devices working perfectly. It's the same procedure for all, only difference being you choose the device on the control to correspond with the device you are trying to talk to.

It's so frustrating cos other than the DVD player it's all working brilliantly.

I've tried a search on Google without much luck, although to be fair I'm not too sure what I'm searching for so probably looking in the wrong places.

Can anyone offer any suggestions? I'm at a complete loss. frown.gif

Does the TV remote turn the hifi up and down as well - are they using the same code?

Not got a hi fi downstairs, just TV, DVD surround sound (which plays CD's of course and has a tuner so works as a hi fi), VCR and Freeview box.

As I say, all working prefectly except the flippin Panasonc DVD player. crazy.gif

Go on Ari don't be lazy, you can teach your remote using the original one. Have you checked the Oneforall website for codes? By the way is it the second generation 6 in 1? if it is Hmmm ....nice. I want one too. Maybe i will get one when i sell my camcorder. grin.gifbowdown.gif169144-ok.gif

It's a lovely piece of kit, if only I could get it to talk to the surround sound. smashfreakB.gif

I bought a Cambridge all in one remote some time back. With this you had to program each button individually. Took me hours, only to find out that it hadn't accepted codes from the set top box, so I had to return it and reprogramme the new one all over again SAUER0421.GIF

Is yours new? I'd return it and get another one if so. If the fault comes up again, perhaps the codes are wrong?? mAy be worth a call to the manufacturer as you're relying on them programming it correctly in the first place?

Thats the only one they give for a Panasonic DVD player. Found another on their web site but that didn't work either. I've emailed them.

I wonder if it's cos its a surround sound jobby not just normal DVD player, so it's got volume control etc which a normal DVD player wouldn't have. confused.gif

PITA if it won't work properly with it. frown.gif

Thank you for your e-mail,

The code(s) that we have found for your device(s) is/are:

DVD code 0703

However, as the necessary software is not in the memory of your One for All

handset, this can not be set up straight away. It needs to be downloaded first.

Therefore, please call the Customer Services Helpline on 0808 1000 306 and

ask for the download of the code(s) mentioned above. If you have had any

code(s) downloaded into your One For All before, please make sure to mention

this as well.

Please note that it is preferable to call us from a cord-connected, land-line

telephone for best results. The upgrade has a limited success with a mobile or

a cordless phone. We are open Monday to Friday 9.00a.m. to 7.00p.m. and

Saturday 9.00am. to 3.00p.m (UK time).

If you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Kind Regards

Sorted. (98% anyway).

Basically they asked me to press a sequence of buttons, then they played a tone burst down the line (like a fax noise) which updates the software! blush.gif

Then tap the code in and it works.

Only thing is that the DVD functions are only the normal player ones of menu search, play, pause, etc. No volume as of course a normal DVD player doesn't have that facility (mine does as surround sound). So they programed the volume adjust into the Amp control function. So now I touch Amp and then have volume control over the DVD.

The only function it doesn't control on the DVD is on/off, oddly. But as I always turn the TV off on the set (rather than leaving it on standby on the remote) it's no hardship to flick the DVD on (or off) at the same time.
