Ok, looking to pick up a cheap LCD screen after Christmas. Probably about a 26 or 28 inch I expect, widescreen of course. Hoping for some bargains in the sales.

I know very little about technical specs of TV's, what should I be looking for?

When I bought my Panasonic 32 inch widescreen CRT, I was advised to go for 100Hz for example. Is this applicable to LCD screens?

And what is MS time (seen it mentioned on here) and what do I need mine to be?

I'm assuming I want HD ready.

Screen is for watching DVD movies and a bit of TV via a digi box mainly and I'm not looking to spend too much so not expecting top spec or top make but something watchable.

Your thoughts gentlepersons, please?

I'm looking for the same Ari.. my research has had me looking for the following.

Refresh rate of Sub 25 milliseconds. (MS) > A standard on this is expected soon, as some manufacturers quote the speed for colour to colour speed changes not back to white for instance which can take much longer so they quote an average.

Screen size of 1366x768

HD ready - means it has an HDMI connector and the correct resoulution as above. It will also then play DVDs etc. at 1080I the new greatest resolution that they will output at and probably what Sky + HD will offer.

I'm looking at a Samsung 26" LE26R41BD which also has a built in freeview tuner and 7 day program guide. They do a similar model spec wise without freeview without the X on the end of the model number.

Happy bargain hunting. 169144-ok.gif
