JonoNZ
Can't say I've had a problem with either (sticky or cold) to be honest. To me at least, the leather lifts the cabin and makes the build feel more substantial.
Snoopy
You know the more i look at posts on MPG i think theres a difference not just because of driving style but because of the box. DSG owners do not seem to get as high figures as manual owners. On the subject of leather, i have to put enough effort into looking after my classic cars leather seats without having to spend time looking after the GTIs leather too. So cloth it was for me + the leather imo is not the best quality in the GTI i was not impressed with it and in 'black' it made the cars interior feel too dark for me. RedRobin
Hi Geoff, I've been gradually coming to the same conclusions too about mpg on DSG cars and yet VW are claiming better mpg with the DSG version than the manual. On the other hand the info posted here is real-world but depends so much on both the individual's driving style and the nature of journeys and I don't think there is enough truly accurate info here to form any definitive conclusions. Cloth or leather is of course a personal preference but I would say that I'm especially impressed by the quality and durability so far of the cloth. Overall, the GTI seats are some of the best available in any car imo.
