Abnormal noise being heard when accellerating

Hi

Ive recently purchased an A4 1.8T (51), absolutely love the car, but something is concerning me..

When accellerating slowly on 1st and 2nd gear, i hear a brief noise which lasts merely a second. It only happens on these gears (maybe not as apparent on higher gears / speed). When i drive off quickly, i dont hear these noises. It happens when;

>I change from 1st to 2nd gear and apply gas

>break slightly and then accellerate (on 1st and 2nd gear).

It seems the noise is coming from the bottom of my car, towards the passengers side. It sounds like something is re-adjusting, like the clunk of two metals.

My gear box and clutch seem fine, or atleast no obvious signs of wear and tear have been noticed.

Any one have any ideas of what this could be, anything i can get checked etc?

Any help at this stage would do..
