If Mods feel that their time is being wasted, then they need to understand that such issues are part of their freely made decision to accept being a Moderator - The expression goes: "If you can't stand the heat, then don't go in the kitchen."

[/ QUOTE ]

Right, so basically it's fine for someone to force us to waste our time on an issue like this because, after all, we choose to do this? confused.gif

Cheers. crazy.gif

....NO! NO! NO! That's not what I mean at all. Of course you prefer not to spend time on such issues of deception. However, surely any and every Moderator must realise that with such a broad medium as the internet, such issues are inevitable and therefore 'come with the territory' of accepting the role of a Moderator and consequently a degree of time-wasting has to be accepted.

I am NOT saying that I, or other TSN members, don't fully appreciate what you do. If you interpreted my words as such I can only apologise but hope you now better understand me.

Again, I can only offer my apologies. If I wasn't sorry, believe me I would have walked away. I still will if that's the common consensus(sp?).

I wouldn't want to stay and tell lies any longer, but I would love to stay as me if you would have it.

It's clear that some members want me to be banished. That's fair enough. If they want rid, well their entitlement isn't it?

It got out of hand. I'm sorry. That's a real apology.

Yes, absolutely, of course it does unfortunately.

But that doesn't make it right or even acceptable.

Nah. Stick around. You've proved you can fool some of the people for some of the time. Now prove you can gain the respect of others for who you are - that's worth a lot more if you can achieve it.

You're 17 in May, right? So let us know what it's like learning to drive. What seems stupid? What seems weird? Hey - it's 19 years since I did that, I've forgotten.

No, not at all, as I put in my reply above...

....I'm now totally confused! confused.gif Hopefully you realise that I am not being critical of the Moderators (but also that I am certainly not afraid to be!).

Lying and deception is totally wrong but someone has to deal with it and unfortunately the Moderators are the principal people who are obliged to waste time doing so. Clear as mud?

[ QUOTE ]

There is the person who is "back and no longer a twat". Okay, the lies weren't as substantial, but he did attempt to persist even after his bluff had been called. McC, to his credit, made an open admission as his first post after he was found out - that, together with posting his pic, has taken some guts. He didn't have to - he could have just walked away.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmm, I think that's a tad harsh on Collease. His lasted 24 hours or so and on re-reading it whilst he tried to persist with the fib it was so clearly untrue I don't think it falls into this sort of category. McCombie's is 2 months of constant lies, over thousands of posts, on varying subjects.

It's not as if Collease tried pretending he had things he didn't either - he simply lied about having a short drive of a particular car. It wasn't the right thing to do, but I don't think he can be classed as a Minor McCombie. This guy is in a league of his own, and in many ways on a par with Pag.

[ QUOTE ]

I still say we should let him stay, and see how it works out.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't disagree with that. The Mod's rarely 'evict' people anyway and I have never supported a user telling someone to leave, no matter what they've done. I just decide whether or not to engage in discussion with them or not.

....Ari, I didn't say it was right - I wrote: "I'm not condoning lying at all - I detest dishonesty" in an earlier post. I'm afraid that whether you like it or not, dealing with such matters is inevitable if you are a Moderator - Am I mistaken about this?

No, not at all, as I put in my reply above...

Did anyone get hurt? Did anyone lose any money? Etc etc

Why worry about something that happens everyday in the world we live in. People lie all the time. Look at politicians, people have actually died because of lies they told.

He has admitted his mistake and hopefully has made him a better person for it. Move on.

I for one will be wary of posters who,

A, do not post a picture of either car or of themselves.

B, Who have not been to a meet.

C,Are not known by another member.

I am annoyed about the way he blatently lied for ages and on lots of other forums, even getting quite personalwith certain grls who were taken in by him.

I myself was taken in by Pag and what hurts the most is the chats we had by pm's which i now know to be total lies.

I joined TSN quite a while ago and have enjoyed the banter, the help, the friendship and meeting quite a few of the members.I for one will use the ignore this user button until i am happy that mc is not spouting any more drivel, I hope that for new members sake it does not make us too wary.

Anyway i have a 2000 1.8t scuffy 100,000 miler in Ming Blue 169144-ok.gif

We've all lied and those who deny it are lying! That said, few have gone to this extent but before you stoke your ire further consider this. If it is true that McCombie is 16 then he is still very young and foolish. Could it be that when things worked out for him for a time and he seemed to be getting away with the deception that he lacked the common sense and wisdom to stop before things got too far out? OK, OK, some may consider that oxymoronic, I'll grant you that.

I have a 18 year old daughter that still has a hard time stopping before things get out of hand. She was head strong BEFORE she came out of the womb! It has been quite the chore to try and teach her safe and proper boundaries.

Now, in Craig's case, if this is the first time he's gone to this extent then he should be given the chance to redeem himself. If this becomes a pattern for him then he will be the victim of his own ignominious demise soon enough.

....Obviously this wouldn't be foolproof but it goes a long way towards sorting people out 169144-ok.gif.

A) - Thank goodness I've posted so many pics of my beloved motor and even myself, though not in the Gallery. cool.gif

B) - Thank goodness I've been to a couple of meets, and am even trying to help organise one. ECLIPSe.gif

C) - Who wants to sleep with me so they can say they know me? Only females need volunteer. smlove2.gif
