calvert2468
I have just bought a 2003 4.2 A8. This will be my 3rd Audi A8. Has anyone converted this model to the later grille/front end? If so what do I need to change?
Muppet_man
Evidently you have to change the headlights, bumper, slam panel and bonnet so you might want to give that a bit of a miss. Good luck.
johnss8
Welcome to TSN calvert, i take it you want to replace your grille with the lower W12 grille? Sorry i don't know much about this but just wanted to be clear.
calvert2468
Hi lads. I collect cars for mot testing from my local Audi dealership. When I see the brand new A8 I just want one, but dont want to pay for one. I thought if I could make my 2003 car look newer I might give it a try. If anyone knows the whereabouts of a rear damaged new A8 that would be my cheapest option if I have to change the whole front end.
ronmcl
Just came across this page: Refreshing Upgrade for the Audi A8 D3 :: Press Release 94 :: LLTek Motorsports They say, 'Pricing details will be posted shortly and they are expected to be reasonable.'... I wonder what their idea of reasonable will be? Personally I like the new grilles... but not enough to go to that extreme! Edited: Oooh, they do one for the D2 as well: European Body Kit Aero Styling Performance Upgrades for Audi A8 D2- LLTEK Motorsports Only $1888, eh... not bad! Plus of course the even bigger depreciation you get by butchering the car. Why would you do that?
Will22
Well shoooot me with a lump of that looks stupid Ok whatever about doing it on a D3 but not on a D2
johnss8
A D3 i could understand but that just doesn't look right on the D2
ronmcl
Yeah, but even doing it to an early D3 isn't right. The new cars look superb with the big grille (eg Craigyb's and Chris_B's ), but they're a different model. I just can't see the point of trying to make one model look like another.
