DukeDesmo
Received my car insurance renewal today from the company that will 'quote you happy' anyway the letter opens with the line; "Great News, Loyalty really does pay" they then go on to ask for £54.00 more than last year! So how does loyalty pay?
doogal1972
Insurance and banks = the biggest crooks around!
h5djr
Try logging in to their web-site and getting a completely new quote. You will probably find it's cheaper than the renewal price. Mine has been for the last 5 years.
neo283
I think it's a typo. Do as the man says, get a re-quote. has always worked for me.
DukeDesmo
Well I've tried various on-line insurance and found quotes from £400 - £950, current insurer wants £720 but it's not due till end of month so I'm not doing anything yet but their 'Loyalty' claim, beggars belief. I mean, fair play that some companies charge more than others but opening lines like that are just taking the piss, they'll have to quote me 'very' happy if they want any more business...... ChriS3
For what it's worth, there was a thread about insurance prices going around recently. Admiral appear to be one of the cheapest just now, give em a try...
Philbes
Find a cheaper quote elsewhere then ask your existing insurer to match it. Mine went down from £335 to £222 when I did that.
Chillihead
I agree, they will always match the online price, if not time to move. I use confused.com to get the best quote, then call for a reduction. Works every time. Admiral quoted me £160 less than Directline with whom I had been insured, accident and claim free for 4 years! stewarta13wsb
I ditched "quote me happy" ages ago - 2 reasons: overseas call centre & THEY WANTED TO INCREASE MY PREMIUM for removing a named driver (although they had previously charged extra to add them) work that one out
Chillihead
I used to work for them (QMH) they will charge for smiling at you.
Motormouth
Im with Admiral, just renewed yesterday, my premium went up as well, which I was supprised with but go them down in the end. Anyway a trick I have used with them for 5 years that has worked without fail, is insure my car for 7.5k miles rather than 10k, then when Im comming up to 7.5k miles usually around month 9, I ring them and tell them I would like to increase it to 10k, usually they want another £60 (the extra they would of charged me in the first place). When they quote the extra I just say 'well Ive been with you for x years any chance of a good will gesture' and then I always get it for free. Ok only £60 - £65 saving but better than nothing and its worked everytime without fail.
