Crusader01
Having got a micro Roadpilot hard wired in the A3 I was thinking of getting a Talex for the A4. Just wondered if anyone had an experience of them and whether they had hard wired them in. Thanks C
helfinger
very easy to hard wire in. The cigar lead just needs to be cut to remove the cigarette end then you can add a inline fuse and wire into the car as you have done with the micro roadpilot. If you have a heated or UV screen you may have a few issues as the talex will only work then using the talex mount which will needs situating up next to the rear view mirror. so people don't want the unit that high. Hope this helps....
Crusader01
Thanks for that. I have emailed Talex but does anyone know if it supports an external gps aerial, then I could put the unit down in that cubby hole on the right below the steering wheel. I fear the answer is no but just in case. Regards C
peterb
If the Talex doesn't support an external GPS antenna, then you could always use a re-radiating antenna system. I had to fit one of these when my replacement windscreen was supplied as one of the heat-insulating versions.
Crusader01
Peter, Have you got any good links for re-radiating antenna? Might be interested in experimenting with one. Thanks C
