Sam_UK
I am finding it difficult finding a company that will tune the Boxster, and came accross super chips who are charging £290 fitted. They have a mobile service and offer a 14day trail. Power increase between 10bhp and 15bhp. Anyone here used Super chips on a Boxster 2.5L? If so any are they any good? Golfer
I have used "superchip mobile" and they are very competent, however 15BHP will hardly be noticed and therefore I would leave weel alone.
RedRobin
Check out Ray West at West Tuning, Thruxton and say I suggested you call (Robin with red GTI).
Sam_UK
Okay..spoke to Gforce: Level 1: ECU Remap + Air Filter (will take a week) Cost £1200! (takes the car to 215bhp) Level 2: ECU Remap + Air Filter + Headers(will take a week) Cost £2500! (takes the car to 220bhp) Level 3: ECU Remap + Air Filter + Headers + Sports Exhaust(will take a week) Cost £3700! (takes the car to 230bhp) Also 15BHP is 15BHP, though i guess it would slightly change the drive of the car which for £290 i think would be worth a try...though i can not belive no one here with a Boxster has used Superchips. DHA
As I said in the Porsche forum chipping a normally aspirated car does not produce much of a result. Most people leave their Boxsters alone or they spend a lot of money and get some real work done if they want more performance.
Tizzy
Porsche themselves do a sports exhaust (though not sure if they did one for the 2.5) but this would be v. expensive. You'll only get any significant power boost if you change the exhaust and the cats, Hayward & Scott do some good stainless steel exhausts for the Boxster, and they do make a really good sound!. DHA
Porsche Sports Exhuast gave no power gains on any model in the 986 range. As Tizzy says H&S do some nice sounding exhuasts.

BenjaminTDI
If you want to spend some serious cash, then get it supercharged, or just buy yourself a faster car. Don't bother with a re-map on an NA car, unless you're having other work done too.
Tizzy
Sam - as said earlier, and backed up by everyone else's comments, the N/A 2.5 isn't that tuneable without serious expenditure and you're starting from a lowish output. Could I make the alternative suggestion that you enjoy the car for the summer, and save your money to go toward changing it for a 3.2S when they are cheaper in autumn / winter - the difference in performance will stagger you.
