durtydurty
Got one of these and find it very difficult to get a decent sound on my radio with it, anyone had experience of using one of these ?, using it on a Gamma radio on a 2002 Golf if it makes a difference! JasonP
Yes, me!!! and its rubbish!!!! No matter what frequency I tuned it to, there was still a lot of hiss. Used it in London once or at least tried to, it was dreadful. Use the tape adapter now, not ideal but hey ho. Am thinking of getting one of the Denison ICE links but not sure if its worth £150. Plums
Guys, Do yourselves a massive favour, take the £100 slap and buy a Dension Ice Link! Literally the best thing since slice bread! Easy to fit and use and crystal clear sound!
gizze
I hate the ice-link, I have just put one in my wifes mini, you loose control of the ipod and have to use the stereo. FF takes you to the next track ok, but how do you jump to the next artist?? Buttons 1-5 choose playlists, but why can't button 1-2 take you up and down the menu and 3-4 take you into the next menu on the tree, would make far more sense. Plums
Granted, in the Dension control mode it is not the best.... .....but if you use the iPod Apple UI by unplugging for 15 seconds and plugging it back in, you get the best of both worlds: you can use the iPod AND the Stereo buttons AND steering wheel buttons to control it! gizze
But when I plug it back in it goes back to head unit control.
Plums
Sorry pal, i think that might be a BMW-ism?
awalsh
I have the Audi version and you need to go go Track 6 on the head unit, it should then give you the Dension logo. You can then select the 'Access iPod UI' by using Next/Back on the HU and FF to select. This should then give u the standard iPod controls. deetyork
I use an I-Trip daily & have no problem with it,(tuned to 88.0) sound quality is excellent for most of my 25 mile commute, The only dead zone is in my works car park right next to an Electricity sub-station! The ipod is mounted in a belkin leather quick release holder which hangs on the dashboard within reach of the back/next buttons which is all I ever use to listen to my 8800 tracks on shuffle! Volume is controlled by the wheel buttons. Battery life on the ipod is my worst gripe (6X 25 mile journeys?)but have a cigar lighter lead for emergencies!
