jules_s3
I remember reading a post on Tyresmoke recently regarding a car detailing company that does a lot of work for people that own expensive/exclusive cars. The process is a more than just a quick wash & wax. I can't seem to find the link and was wondering if anyone could remember the name of the company. I think they are based up north..... Thank you.......

McGee
He is based around the M25 Mr Miracle Detail, but will travel anywhere in the world. But to be honest I wouldn't bother his technique is woeful to say the least after seeing him on 5th Gear. He was only interested in telling everyone how expensive all his products were, as if that makes them good, which they aren't. I know plenty of people who could better his work at a tenth of the price if not less. Have a look on Detailing World for some advice and maybe some help and save yourself the cash. [/ QUOTE ] I couldn't disagree more. Paul from Miracle Detail does utterly stunning work and is a pleasure to deal with. Ask MOSE about him too. To criticise a business on the basis of a small slot on a TV programme is very harsh IMO. If you'd dealt with him directly (maybe you have for all I know) then I'd say it stood up to more of an accepted argument. His pricing is much more structured than is being made out - and very competitive for the level of work you get and the final results just need to be observed on his website for proof - along with testimonials from people who wouldn't hesitate to grumble if they weren't 100% happy. I enquired about work on a Noble GTO-3R which was a fair distance from him, made it clear I hadn't bought the car at that point, yet he was absolutely superb. He gives impartial and practical advice with no obligation, and he certainly didn't promote 'expensive only' items. He makes it very clear the results come from his work and his products - not just because he uses expensive ones. Indeed I mentioned a particular product which would have been very expensive - and he was the first to say he'd not recommend it yet would instead go for a cheaper one. [/ QUOTE ] Sorry....I have to disagree. Paul's work is literally stunning and his method of detailing used on the MC12 was intended for the MC12. His detailing method for the Veyron, in comparison is more complex at a full 21 stages and again it is a detailing method dedicated to the Veyron. I know Paul personally and have had the pleasure of his compnay several times when I had all the problems with the paintwork on my M3. He was able to tell mectly what was wrong with my car even to the point of telling me that he would not be comfortable working on my car given the flaw in the paint job. Now....how many professional detailers do you know who would turn down the opportunity of working on a car and earning an honest buck? Exactly, not many! I dont know wher the price of £4800 comes from for the detailing work mentioned above, but I can tell ou that Paul will work to your budget and recommend a detailing programme for your car. The figures he quited me were nowhere near what was mentioned, in fact hugely different.
McGee
His method of washing was very poor. He washed the car from the bottom up and then followed up by doing the wheels, he used the clay cold and best of all washed it was one bucket method with a fecking sponge. You call this a good technique I think not. For a 12 year old it is OK but if your paying up to £5k for a detail on a car that costs £100k+ I would expect him to do it properly. The majority of people are ignorant in proper car detailing and assume that because he charges top dollar his work is worth it. The end results were good but the methods used were poor. Most detailers could achieve similar results if not better at a fraction of the cost. Good luck to him anyway if people are foolish enough to pay that kind of money to him he would be stupid not to take it, a fool and his money are easily parted. spidermanUK
TBH the 5 grand quoted for detailing was probably nothing more than the usual TV sensationalism! According to Zymol's website, there are only 3 companies in the UK that currently have Royale wax, the stuff that costs between 5 and 7 grand (depending on who you ask!!!) for a 50oz tub (refilled for free for life btw). I've had my 355 done by Dave Bowerman at Sportscar Protection and the result is stunning! You'd be pleased with the result on a new car, let alone a 7 year old one! I've checked both Dave and Paul's websites, and it seems that Paul does charge £200 more than Dave for a full Royale treatment (Dave charges £400). I can only vouch for Dave, and I know at least 6 other people who use him, some every month, and his work is brilliant! He spent 13 hours on my car, plus he travelled from the Midlands to Herts to do it. When you take into account the hours, the materials, the travelling costs and the sheer hard work involved, it's actually not expensive! If you look at Dave's website, the 355 on the Royale page is my car, and I think it looks quite nice!
