belfastS3
Hi, I have had fault code P1128 come up on my 2001 S3. The full description is Multiplicative Valve Corrective 1 Mixture too lean. Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this? I would rather just get the part off Audi than have to pay their ridiculous prices! Please Help. Paul
17536 (P1128) Long Term Fuel Trim mult.,Bank1 System too Lean fueling issue. Im not too hot on these, but it could well be caused by faulty MAF sensor (mass air flow sensor in exit of airbox), but this is really just one possible cause. I would certainly get it checked out, as you dont want to run the car on not enough fuel.
belfastS3
Cheers mate, does anyone know if changing the MAF sensor will fix this, and how much do they cost? Thanks in advance. Andrew
Paul
MAF is one possible cause, i would.nt like to say its the definate cure, it just could be related to the MAF. They are circa £80- £90 service exchange from Audi. They return a small service charge fee on receipt of your faulty one back. If i had this code, even with having vagcom, i would still get it checked out my a specialist or a tuner to be safe. It the engine goes south, its many ££££ to fix. belfastS3
If I call an Audi garage and ask them what the codes means, will they be able to tell me?
Paul
I would expect they will want to read the code for themselves. I dont know if they would acknowledge that code. Its not one that the mainstream Vag-com (aftermarket diagnostics) use either, hence I converted it to what vagcom would have displayed.. with the 17536 code
belfastS3
P1128 appears on the official website, so it surely is recognised as a real code. Can any garage fix this problem, or do I need to go to some kind of specialist, if so what kind?
