jaboker
Hello all, been browsing these forums for a while now so thought I would register to get some advice from the experts! I own an A3 1.9 TDI 130bhp 2002. Since a couple of days ago, its producing loads of black smoke through the exhaust. As well as this fuel consumption is really poor and have noticed the it doesnt feel as quick as before and the speed will slightly dip when i'm travelling constant. Any ideas as to what this might be and how much it might cost? Any advice is appreciated!

jaboker
Took the A3 to a couple of specialists today. The first suggested it could be the air mass meter but wasn't too sure as the dignostics came back fine. The second took the car for a quick spin and immediately identified boost leak. He looked under the bonnet and found that a pipe located near the drivers side headlight had come loose. He secured it again, and hey presto, the car is sorted!
