ctnw27200
Hi all! I've justed replaced my indicator bulbs on my 2004 A3 with LED types. Problem is, the DIS now beeps everytime i get in the car to let me know the bulbs have blown. I know this is a common thing when replacing standard bulbs with LED's, and one option is to fit a load resistor to each bulb such that it fools the car into thinking there's no problem. Is there a easier way of disabling this auto-check on the exterior bulbs? Hearing six beeps each time i start the engine is starting to annoy me. Many thanks in advance. craigyb
You need to fit a ballast resistor across the LED lights to fool the car into thinking it has real bulbs installed. LED replacements use less current so the car thinks the buld has gone.
ctnw27200
Yep. Each bulb needs a resistor, but that's easier said than done when there's six to do, and there's not much slack in the wires! I was hoping that this bulb-checking function could easily be disabled, rather than splicing wires! Chris
